Lauren Ford, WHNP-BC

Lauren Ford Lauren Ford was born and raised in Bossier City, Louisiana. She comes from a large family of nurses and knew a career in the medical field was her life goal. Ford obtained a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University Shreveport in 2010 and a Bachelor of Nursing from Northwestern State University in 2014. Throughout nursing school Ford discovered her passion in caring specifically for women, infants and children. After completing her nursing degree, she went to work for University Health as a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) Registered Nurse. Ford made the decision to further her nursing career and began the program to become a women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP).

While in nurse practitioner school, Ford furthered her nursing experience by working in various areas such as NICU, newborn nursery and the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). She graduated with a Master’s in Nursing from Northwestern State University in 2018. Ford focuses on both obstetrical and gynecological conditions. She is trained and certified in procedures such as Nexplanon insertion/removal, intrauterine device (IUD) insertion/removal, endometrial biopsies (EMB) and colposcopies. Among her memberships are the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH), Sigma Theta Tau (STI) and the International Nurses Association.

Ford has been married to her husband Joey for seven years. They have one child and three dogs. Following a personal struggle of infertility and the loss of her mother to breast cancer, Ford has found an even stronger desire to study all areas of women’s health and provide quality patient care for women.

“Being able to establish relationships, educate and administer medical care to women of all ages has been very rewarding and fulfilling. I look forward to providing evidence-based quality care to the patients of Women’s Health Associates for many years to come,” she said.
