John R. Carter, MD, FACOG

Dr. Carter provides office gynecologic services to include yearly wellness exams, management of abnormal pap smears, fertility counseling and management, as well as menopause management. He stays up to date with the latest gynecological surgical procedures to include laparoscopic procedures as well as laparoscopic hysterectomy. Many of these patients are able to go home the same day of surgery. He continues low-risk as well as high-risk pregnancy services.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG) and a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Carter also is a member of numerous medical and professional societies. He obtained his Medical Doctorate at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine and completed his residency training at LSUHSC-S.

Dr. Carter is happily married to Jan Bailey Carter. They have raised two children who have passed through Bossier Parish schools and beyond. In his spare time, Dr. Carter enjoys outdoor activity and hunting.
